Here’s a  step by step guide on how to upgrade the Samsung Galaxy S 4G to Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread T959VUVKI1 firmware update. This guide covers for manual flashing by way of using ODIN since this firmware is a stock ROM, a leaked and not a final Gingerbread version so far. Samsung Galaxy S 4G ODIN flashing procedure:
1) Download the Galaxy S 4G T959VUVKI1 Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread Stock ROM and extract it.

2) Run ODIN v1.7 or v1.85 on your desktop.

3) On ODIN click on the PDA button and then select and load the: 
T959VUVKI1-REV00-home-low-CL579207.tar.md5 file in the PDA field.

Ensure that the RE-partition is not checked, Only the Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time are checked on each checkboxes.
DO NOT USE a pit file and CSC file on it. Leave it empty.

4) Turn your Galaxy S 4G off. Press and hold the VOLUME DOWN and POWER Button
- then plug the USB to your PC. This will reboot the phone into Download Mode. You should see a BIG yellow triangle on the phone said Download mode, and the ID:COM box on ODIN will indicate that the phone is already connected or detected.

5) Once all set, hit the “Start” to begin the firmware flashing.

Wait…. until the firmware flashing process finishes. You will then see a word “PASS” when it completes and then the phone will then reboot. It only takes around 2-5 minutes max depends on your PC speed. Once finish, unplug your device from PC. That’s it!

How to update Samsung Galaxy S 4G using the T959VUVKI1 via Odin.
This is for advance users only, everyone can still upgrade for the official OTA update release.

1) Download the stock ROM  .tar file.
2) Extract  the .tar file you just downloaded, the password is samfirmware.com. It will become .tar.md5 file extension then.
3) Start Odin downloader
4) Click “PDA” and load the .tar.md5 file you just extracted into it.

DO NOT SET ANY OPTIONS IN ODIN

5) Turn off the Galaxy S 4G then set the device into download mode – Hold Vol+Up & Vol+Down button,  then plug it in to the PC and Odin will recognize it.

If you will download the file and after extracted it, you can view two files -  the APBOOT and PDA.You also need the TASS.OPS file and Odin here. Here comes another Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread firmware update for Samsung Galaxy S II I9100. This has just been reportedly as an official Kies server firmware release in France, the version build number is I9100XWKJ2 in which got the default CSC file code XEF- France = I9100XEFKJ1 and a build date of October  21, 2011.

A new firmware for Samsung Galaxy Gio S5660 with build number S5660XXKS5 this ROM is packed in Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread with a build date of October 15, 2011. The CSC file is SER – S5660SERKS1, which is the default firmware code for Russia. But anyway a global version of Galaxy Gio may also use this ROM, the only tweak is to change the default language which is in Russian to any European region.

This ROM might be a developers beta release since it doesn’t yet shows up from Samsung Kies official firmware update server. This is the second ROM released for Gio since from the first  Android 2.3.5 with build number S5660XXKS2 that was recently released last September. The baseband version still the same from previous 5660XXKS2, so the build number is the only got a change.  We also have many reports that the first release was facing a lot of  bug issues so hope this one might be the stabler one.

There are no report that this firmware update has been officially released by Samsung server but  might be officially push out soon. It might been pulled out from Kies as a test mode or beta released for advance users and developers use only, (not confirmed yet). So just use or flash it at your own risk..

The Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread Firmware for Vodafone Australia Samsung Galaxy S II recently leaks. The firmware build number is I9100TDUKJ1 with the CSC file I9100TVAUKJ1  which is the default firmware code for Australia’s Vodafone. We don’t know if  this ROM is already on the hands of Vodafone’s technical team for a test run.We aren’t sure that this must be officially rolled out sooner but  hopefully as far as if it passes from the test and this ROM runs smoothly and found without any serious bug issues, it will be push officially via OTA or Kies server.

European versions of Samsung Galaxy S II which is also provided by Vodafone had been already got the official Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread a few weeks ago with build number I9100BUKJ3 while the  Vodafone  Australia’s Samsung Galaxy S II are still recently running with the firmware build  I9100TDUKF4 which is 2.3.3 Gingerbread and was a maintenance released on September 2011.

This the step by step procedure on how to manually flash the Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread firmware on Samsung Galaxy S Wifi 5.0 YP-G70CW or called as Galaxy Player. We are using Odin downloader and the default original stock ROM G70XXKPF. This procedure will only work on a specific variant of Galaxy Player released in Europe with product code YP-G70CW.

The Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread has been officially rolled out on some countries over Europe started from the month October last year. I just created this guide for such certain reports of users on some forums  that already bricked their Galaxy Players for flashing a wrong ROMs because they can’t wait for the official firmware releases on their regions via Samsung Kies. This WILL NOT WORK on other multimedia player like the Galaxy S Wi-Fi 4.0 YP-G1CW, Galaxy Player 50 YP-G50CW and the US versions Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0 YP-G1CWY and Samsung Galaxy Player 5.0 YP-G70C/NAW. So, just check out your device product information before applying this guide, for it will bricked your device in no time if you use the ROMs as stated here.

Disclaimer: We shall not held responsible if anything happens to your device by applying this tutorial. Proceed at your own risk.

Prerequisite: 
- Back up all important files stored on the player, contacts, messages, videos, music etc.
- make sure your device battery is charge at its peak or at least 50 to 70% remaining power.This will avoid risk of power failure that result on bricking the device.
- You need to have Kies installed on your PC or laptop, to have the driver of your player also installed on your computer.
- Use a good and working USB cable for your Galaxy S Wifi 5.0

1. Extract the downloaded file
2. Run Odin3 v1.82exe
3. Click on the PDA button then select and load the

CODE_G70XXKPF_CL562492_REV01_user_low_ship_HOME.tar.md5 ROM

4. Set the Galaxy S Wifi into download mode: Turn it Off then -
press and hold the Power key, Volume down andHome button at the same time
5. Once the ID:COM turn to yellow color, connect thephone to PC.
6. Then hit the “Start” button and wait until the flashing finishes. Do not touch nor interrupt the process.
7. A word “PASS” will then appear in Odin when it successfully  installed the firmware. The phone will then reboot, then it’s time to unplug it from PC.

-You can then check and confirm the newly installed firmware by typing *#1234#

-Change it to your desired language.
-You might also need to reconfigure the network APN settings.
-You may then do a full factory reset *2767*3855# to regain a fresh firmware installed.
That’s it. You can still use this guide for future upgrade with other stock ROM build.

The stock ROM T679MUGKK1 is the Original Operating System of branded Samsung Galaxy W SGH-T679M by carrier Bell Mobility in Canada. This smartphone source released by Samsung has kernel and system differences, but the hardware specs are pretty much identical to the international version of Samsung Galaxy W GT-I8150 and the Samsung Exhibit II 4G SGH-T679 by T-Mobile in USA but it uses a different firmware because it is branded exclusively by Bell Mobility Canada.

I got this info with AnTuTu, so I figured out that this is an Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread firmware version.

This stock ROM is useful for returning back the device into original factory default firmware setting, just in-case in need of warranty back purposes after installing any unofficial ROM, rooting and also useful to fix softbrick. Just use the ROM carefully, you at your own.
